Poll: Seeding in AVI Format
Hi folks,
It has already been suggested, asked and answered. Would you guys be interested a special section with possible sub-sections dedicated for sharing torrents in avi format (preferred) or other formats to those who have low storage and limited bandwidth! This is besides whatever we already have as widely adopted DVD format. I have seen some members uploading in AVI more in movies but less for series! I personnally like the avi for lengthy series, VF has done in a past some upload in avi but demand was not strong. I will be one of the first to upload series in AVI for quick download but we probably need a dedicated section for that since it will be a mess to follow! Some may opt to seed 1 avi per episode or all episodes in one shot! It is up to the uploader! Today, dvd with divx support is widely sold and cheap. I watch a lot in set-top divx than with dvd anyway! Quality is also good! It will come in all flavors, either you rip it yourself or you have them in avi,mpg,... format from other sites, it is fine! Please reply to the poll so VF can get a better idea of the demand! I will be seeding the below series in AVI format for a test drive!  Thanks for reading and voting! RM

I think it will indeed be a good idea to seed avi format for those who have low storage or bandwidth, but personally i like the dvd format, since I mostly download for my parents and I have to burn them onto dvd, and dvd format gives best quality. However, I think that many will like avi better, since it will be a faster download and take up less space for them. Way to go for a great idea RM. =]

Way to go AVI format, I absolutely love it man, great quality which compare to my laptop, LCD screen and Plasma TV. Otherwise i can get HD stuff but they really hit my internet limit download, 40 GB per month with $90, 1500Kbs. AVI format is the best i think, not too many MB to upload and download. Way to go VF!!!

Thanks DK, Ms Piggy and other's feedback! Here you go, download the first episode of the test drive serie and help me seeding fast!  Check the torrent section for download links and be the first to leech them! A DIVX capable dvd player is recommended, you should also be able to watch them in HD format like 720p resolution or higher! RM

no problem but I suggest people using a quad core pc for encoding.

Now who is the bastard voted for DVD? *looking around*, ok, that's me  RM, is there much of a difference between DVD & avi in quality during fast movements in the movie?
