thesultan: cool u went to vn. are 14 yr old drivers of legal age to drive? van: u went to vn too? dang i'm missing out! seems like drivers in vn are super scrawny. my body weight would sent most of them flying off their bikes and toppling to the ground gee if i had $50 grand in my pocket right now i'd touch it, feel it to make sure its actually real lol its rare that i have that much cold hard cash on me then if i wanna be wise and logical i'd pay off my car loans if i'm not in a wise and logical state of mind i'd hop on the next plane to vn (after tipping my boss a cool hundred for time off) to check out the "tall" ppl that van says exist and ride on scooters driven by skinny ppl q: do u guyz think online friendz or relationshipz are real? |

nightdrifter, I think the only age requirement for driving in vn is measured in dong. It seemed to me that bribes are commonplace.
van, 50k = next year's tuition, well actually like a year-and-a-half's worth. |

Yes, bribes are commonplace there. But, I didn't bribe anyone to drive and I was really lucky to not get stopped by any police. Otherwise..uh oh
. Who knows! Jail, money, death! |

Good question, NightDrifter and I own to answer that to a very dear friend of mine whom I care more than ever!
Everyone\'s experience of online is different from one to an another so I just go ahead take that question and answer it based on my recent true experience. Well, if i was asked that question 4 months ago, i probably would say that I have not had known a REAL online friendship. Why? It is simply because that making friends online is much easy these days does only go to forum posting & some private PMs, meeting same friends everyday are so great already but do not qualify to be REAL to me. REAL friendship is going beyond that! Trusting that person to share private part of your life as if you were really REAL to that person. To gain that TRUST is probably the hardest part of a relationship as friendship and the same holds true in real life. You have to build up that friendship too because if one opens himself and the other does not. It is going nowhere as I almost lost a REAL friend because of that. It is really hard to describe. It\'s like you close your eyes and you can picture like online never exists in your mind and everything is REAL and you just live with it daily, the online friend is REAL, feeling is REAL too, and if you even want to talk to that person, you know that he/she is there to wait for you because both of you somehow care to each other in a unique way. When you reach that level which you probably know yourself that all of these things are REAL because they are now part of your real life, then I say that they are REAL. Something out of this, I can tell that I\'m pretty HAPPY to find the REAL of that friendship and I intend to cherish that as long as that person does the same. I never wanted to go beyond the barrier I had set to myself but my HEART can not lie when that true online friendship is so REAL. |

Van, probably just money. He was saying that whenever he gets stopped he has to pay the cop in order to let him go. But if they thought you had any money they would probably want it or threaten jail, hell maybe death, one can never know. We were renting a hotel room and they made me wait in the car and duck down b/c my appearance would equate tourist, and they assumed the hotel clerk would charge more.
MR tsuj, deep stuff. You answered the last question. So you would ask the next one. |

My bad, i'm sensitive to that kind of question! That's the whole truth of it, what can I say? Deep, yes it is! This thread has serious and non serious questions. NightDrifter's question is related to what i'm living so I just can't help to let you guys know that i'm doing fine! I'm going to ask what I'm interested to know so here you go! Q: What importance marriage means to you? Are you ready to live with your loved one if you are not married? Explain the reasons of why or why not? |

Actually they do charge more for tourists. They were two price systems i noticed. system 1: price for locals (vietnam ppl who live in vietnam) and expats (born in vietnam) price for others (ie ppl who were not born in vietnam)\ system 2: price for locals price for expats price for others obviously as you go down the list of each system of pricing the prices get higher ![]() Enjoy knowing u probably got ripped off even more than i did:P |

vancredible, you are so right on that pricing system. It seems like they can close their eyes and still can recognize that you are not local.
Answer: Marriage is quite important to me due the fact that I'm a Catholic. Although the divorce percentage is around 50% in the US, but I still believe (and hope) that the 1 I will marry to is going to the only one. Maybe I'm just being naive perhaps denial too, but I stand strong to my belief. My currently single (sadly), the next part of the question doesn't really apply to me but I'm gonna answer it anyway. If I really love some1, to live with her would be a dream/desire, however living with some1 before marriage would consider to be a sinner. I'm not quite sure how to measure the strength of belief and desire so I'm gonna have to wait to see which 1 is stronger. Question: How do you think about your life, it's it being predefined or are you holding it in your own hand and control your own destiny?

Personally, I believe life is in our own hands. I think fate/destiny/chance whatever you like to call it - brings us opportunities and we have to stand up and go grab that opportunity, if we want to. Ever have the feeling someone walks into the room and you want to go and meet that person you're thinking "should I go up to them and introduce myself or not?" I think that's where fate or whatever taps you on the shoulder and its up each of us to decide what we do with that opportunity. I think this applies to so many things...someone asks you "hey u wanna do xxx this weekend?" and it's something you've never done before. It's an opportunity to do something...everybody has a choice in life. I believe we are in control of our own destiny.
You want to goto Canada psygone? Is there anything really stopping you to come to hockeyland? Get on a bus/plane/train (you have to head north again if you forgot ) and tell em to take you to "Ka-na-da". Say it slowly, else they might think you want to go to Kansas. :PYOu can pick a question, but I'd like someone to answer the first question. YOu know what a woodchuck is right? It chucks wood, so here's my question: How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? How much wood would u chuck...no sexual innuendos plz...ok, one sexual innuendo is allowed .Next question: Has there been an opportunity in life that was yours for the taking but you never grabbed it by the bum cheeks and said "I want to do that!" or "I'll take on that responsibility at work!"? |

MR_tsuJ, what an in-depth answer full of conviction! I agree with you; some online friendships can turn your doubts abotu finding kindred spirits through the world wide web into concrete belief. I've had the pleasure of befriendly many wonderful people online, and when I've met up with them eventually, it's even better. I count my blessings on a daily basis!
Van, I agree with you about grabbing onto fate. Life, indeed, is what you make out of it. And yet, I also believe that there is a bit of fate or destiny that holds an invisible grip onto our lives. For example, look at 9/11. Although there were numerous casualties, there were also survivors. These were people who came to work late that day or got stuck in traffic, and therefore, was saved from a tragic death. My friend got into a car accident last year and it nealy cost him his life. He had gone shopping for his mother because she had prior engagements, and got hit by a drunk driver. It could have been his mom behind that wheel, but instead it was him. Coincidence? Perhaps not. Perhaps this is just what was meant to happen. I believe that our destiny is written on a cocktail napkin somewhere before we were born. Our lives have expiry dates that is unknown to us, and when that date is used up, then our time in this world ends. I didn't always think this way. I came to this belief after my brother developed heart failure. I couldn't find any other way to explain why my kind-hearted 28-year-old brother was meant to suffer such a cruel disease. I'd rather believe that yes, our lives are certainly what we make out of it, but when it's time to go, no one -- sometimes not even medical science -- can stop death. Psgyone, what's this about you making a trip to Canada? For real?
